Leading critical communications provider TTG has been named as the Midlands winner in HSBC’s Global Connections Awards 2014.
The Derby-based company is celebrating after being chosen from nine regional finalists at a ceremony at Birmingham Town Hall last night. The awards programme recognises British companies who have shown ambition and innovation in developing and expanding their business overseas. They come from a variety of sectors but all have in common a focus on global trade as a basis for growth.
Commenting on their success, Mike Norfield, TTG CEO, said: “We’ve ramped up our export focus since going through a management team buy-out in 2010. Our most recent figures put our non UK trade at 53% of our annual turnover, and we have further plans to expand our global footprint and penetration in the overseas markets that we already trade in. We are confident that our global operations will continue to grow and we are opening up new regional offices and investing in our sales and operational teams.
“The Midlands is flourishing at the moment so to be selected as the winner from such a strong shortlist is a real honour, and affirms that we are helping to develop the UK as a provider of leading global products and services. For us, this award is just testimony to our customers that we’re a good firm to do business with,” he added.
TTG now progress to the national final later in the year along with the other four regional winners. National winners will be selected in three categories – excellence in innovation, international trade and mid-market growth.
